Yes. You heard it here first. The story for today is indeed true and it happened to me as I was on my way to my dear friends wedding.
Now, this draft I think was purely me just trying to remember exactly what happened. Therefore because of this it doesn't really have a satisfying ending! I think that if I were to work on this then a really funny, sad and intense short script could be made. There is so much scope to make it funnier or more poignant. I'm undecided exactly what sort of tone I think would work best/ would be the most appropriate.
Aside from this script today I just want to write my thoughts at this point as I reach the over half way mark of this writing challenge. At the end I think I will write a more detail blog post that actively tries to summarise and understand all my learnings. But, at this point I should just write my thoughts as they come to me. I am definitely looking forward to this being finished. Don't get me wrong, I think it's been a really useful exercise to practice on an almost daily basis. However, I think the fact I am mostly leaving doing these scripts until the end of the day when I am tired is the most idiotic and frustrating thing that I just can't to seem to help in not doing it.
I was reading this article once about a writer describing their 'process'. They said that they would write first thing in the morning as soon as they woke up because that was when they felt their brain was at it's most active and creative. They wake up the more they write and their thoughts becoming more focused and alive as they go. They were speaking about how in the evening they are too tired and that lacking energy can be a real killer when writing. There was also another writer in this article who said they can only work at night. I have always been one of these people. My sweet spot for university essays was always 3am in the library. At that point you'd procrastinated yourself to boredom and despair that you are almost excited to get to writing. Also that is when the many caffeinated drinks take over your whole being and for a good two hours or so you are a writing machine.
I am one of these cretins who writes in the evenings but, I think it would be really useful to buck this trend and for the second half of the challenge to be more ahead of myself. It would be great if I can finish the scripts in the afternoon as opposed to regularly finishing at 11pm.
